Legislation introduced by Senator Amy Klobuchar aims to help businesses impacted by a decrease in travel due to the coronavirus.
The bill would launch a comprehensive study into the effects of the COVID pandemic on the travel and tourism industry. The results will be used to come up with policy recommendations that provide relief to those affected businesses. Klobuchar said, “from Lake Superior to the Mall of America, Minnesota is home to exceptional tourist destinations-but as travel has been limited during the coronavirus pandemic, the tourism industry has been hit particularly hard. Klobuchar co-chairs the Senate Travel and Tourism Caucus with Missouri Republican Roy Blunt.
